Historical Football Grounds in Wigan and District

The following couple of pages pinpoint the location of some of the football grounds around Wigan, all of which are no longer in use.
"The Major Grounds" deals with five grounds used while football was in its infancy before the First World War, some little more than a field, some shared with other sports.
"The Lesser Known Ones" looks at the grounds used by smaller teams at the grass roots of the sport.

If you know of any grounds missed, drop into Facebook, search for The Boulevard of Broken Dreams and ask for Bert, the only criteria being that the venue must have existed before 1930.
